Puducherry-Dadar Express Train Derails; 7 injured

Submitted by Newseditor on Mon, 2015-12-21 22:11 Bengaluru/ Hubli: The Puducherry-Dadar Express 11006 train derailed at Hunakal Station, 7 Kms away from Hubli Railway Station. In the mishap, five children and two adults sustained minor injuries. The impact of the derailment was so strong that three wagons-a general compartment, a Sleeping cum Luggage Rake (SLR) and a sleeper coach were pushed out of the track. The incident occurred at 3.35 pm while the train was moving towards Pune. All the injured have been were shifted Railway Hospital in Hubli. Following this accident, few train services between Dharwa and Solhapur have been cancelled. Many routes have been reportedly rescheduled. The exact cause of mishap will be disclosed after investigation, railway officials said.
