CBI arrests BSF constable, uncovers job racket being run out of city

Submitted by alvin on Thu, 2016-05-19 18:12 Bengaluru: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) uncovered a recruitment racket by arresting a constable belonging to the Border Security Force (BSF) and a proprietor of a coaching centre in Bengaluru.The accused were allegedly collecting money from applicants by promising them entry into BSF and other paramilitary organisations.Cases under several sections of the IPC have been registered against the constable who was serving as security aide to the Chief Medical Officer, BSF, STC, Bengaluru.The BSF, STC, Bengaluru had registered a complaint with the CBI stating that one of its constables was engaged in contacting and likely collecting money from the applicants for the post of constables in BSF during the on-going recruitment process, including clearance in their medical board examination. Acting on the complaint, the CBI intercepted the accused at Vidyaranyapura, Bengaluru, while entering the office of a coaching centre.Initial investigations of the accused revealed that he was working at the behest of the proprietor of a coaching centre, who had promised him an alleged payment of Rs30,000/- per candidate for clearing them in the medical board examination.Subsequent searches conducted at the premises of accused and others including the coaching centre revealed the existence of a job racket being run in the name of the coaching centre for contacting the applicants from UP, Bihar
