Submitted by alvin on Tue, 2016-05-03 16:28 Bengaluru: BJP corporators led by their leader BS Yeddyurappa held a massive protest against the steep hike in property tax in the city on Tuesday.Calling it an unscientific tax, the State BJP leader said when BJP was in power, it never hiked the property tax but the Congress and JD(S) are burdening the common man by increasing the property tax. The protesting BJP corporators demanded the Mayor to withdraw the proposed hike. Yeddyurappa also demanded the Mayor to revoke suspension of four coporators.The protesters had planned to lay siege to BBMP however, they were prevented by police. Following their protest, traffic came to a standstill near KR Circle and Corporation circle. Police had a tough time clearing the traffic.BJP leaders MLA R Ashok, Suresh Kumar, Ashwath Narayana and MP PC Mohan also took part in the protest.
