Traffic Police wakes up as #SaveWhitefield Slogans Reverberate

Submitted by Newseditor on Tue, 2015-12-01 13:14 Bengaluru: In the wake of huge protest staged by the techies and residents of Whitefield here on Monday, the Bengaluru City Traffic Police has begun the remedial action with immediate effect.As a primary step to resolve the issue of traffic block, the city traffic police has ordered the shifting of the bus stop situated near the K R Puram hanging bridge to suitable location.“The bus stop for long distance buses on K R Puram hanging bridge will be shifted to the other side of the bridge near ITI gate soon,” Dr M A Saleem, Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic tweeted.The bus stop for long distance busses on KR Puram hanging bridge will be shifted to the other side of bridge near ITI gate soon.— Dr. M A Saleem, IPS (@AddlCPTraffic) November 30, 2015The KR Puram main road which connects Kolar and Whitefield has always been a major traffic bottleneck as it has a very narrow block under the bridge. By shifting the bus stop from the current spot, the police hopes to smoothen the traffic at Whitefield.
