Govt to appoint 1069 PU faculties

Submitted by Newseditor on Tue, 2015-12-01 12:11 Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Government has decided to recruit 1069 new faculties for Pre University Board which was stalled earlier. The government is likely to issue a circular regarding the new recruitments in coming days. But the recruitment is being done only for 61 positions in the subjects-music, computer science and biology.The applications had been invited for the post of 1130 PU lecturers in May 16 in 2015. Also, government had fixed the last date of submitting the application at June 16, issuing notice to announce the examination date later on.The examination authority had fixed the cut off percentage for the SC/ST candidates at 55 percent. But oppositions were agog regarding not giving concession for the SC and ST candidates by 5 percentage. The procedure was put on stay in August after pending amendments.The examination authority had fixed the examination fee for the candidates at Rs 2000 for SC/ST and Rs 2500 for general category. Now it has been reduced by 50 percent for SC/ST aspirants.More than 30000 aspirants have applied for the posts of PU faculty and Rs7.5 crore has been collected as examination fee. Also the candidates who have not filled the application fully, could apply directly, officials told Bfirst.
