At present the city gets 19 tmc water from the reservoir but in future, the city would need 30 tmc of water. But with water level decreasing at the dam, people should make limited use of water and opt for rainwater harvesting, added chief minister. Speaking after presenting Kempegowda awards in the city on Friday, the chief minister was of the opinion that bifurcation of the civic body would ensure better administration and help address civic problems for, the city has grown from 250 sq kms to 800 sq kms. The issue is now pending before the court.Paying rich tributes to Kempegowda, the chief minister said Kempegowda had created several artificial lakes and onus is on us preserve them for future generations.Kempegowda Awards were presented to 150 people including IPS officer Sonia Narang, Dr Manjunath S Gujjar, actor Dingri Nagaraj, director SK Bhagwan, Master KT Darshan and tabla player Vishwanath Nakod.
