Kumar Naik had assumed the office only in last April and now he will take over as managing director of Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL). Along with Naik, the government has also transferred N Manjunath Prasad and Maheshwar Rao. Prasad – who was secretary, agriculture – will now be the commissioner of BBMP. Rao, who was the KPCL MD, will now take over as secretary, agriculture. It may be recalled here that Mathai was served a show-cause notice on Wednesday from Kumar Naik for going to media over the alleged irregularities in advertisement. He was given three days’ time to reply. While no reason was shown behind these transfers, Kumar Naik’s sudden transfer has raised a few eyebrows.
