Mallya reportedly owes BBMP more than Rs60 lakh."We have served a notice to United Breweries Holdings Limited, the khata holder of all these four buildings. The matter pertains to the non-payment of property tax of Rs 61.8 lakh from four buildings in UB City. Mallya is out of country, chances of him coming before March 31 is less,'' an official said.Official sources said of the four buildings, two has not paid tax for the last eight years and others had not paid tax ranging from two to three years. "As per Karnataka Muncipal Corporation Act, if Khata holders do not reply within a week, the civic body can initiate proceedings to seize the properties to recover the tax arrears,'' official said. BBMP revenue officials are reportedly struggling to meet the revenue target of Rs503 cr given by Bengaluru Development Minister K J George to collect Rs 503 crore on or before March 31.
