Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) MA Saleem said the app enables customers to know their routes and the exact fare which will prevent quarrels with drivers. A customer can also register complaint using the app, said Saleem. The idea for the app came after traffic police received several complaints against autorickshaw drivers on various social media platforms. Hence, B-Safe was designed to address such grievances, said the ACP. Transport commissioner Dr Ramegowda, who was p-resent at the launch, said auto-rickshaw drivers faced stiff competition from Ola and Uber. "However, auto-rickshaws still have an advantage as they can travel to remote corner and are easily available for hire. Hence, drivers should be public-friendly and face competition in the right spirit,” he said.
