Even you will have to ensure that your ‘pillion rider’ inside your car wears a helmet. Yes, it is true case in Bengaluru.Recently Prakash Sesharaghavachar who owns an Innova car number bearing KA 04 MP 7257 has been penalised by Bengaluru city traffic police (BTP) for not wearing helmet. The penalty receipt clearly mention that it is an Innova car and there was a pillion rider with no helmet and have to pay Rs 100 as a penalty.A mistake committed by BTP made it clear that the police are busy penalising pillion riders after the helmets were made mandatory for pillion riders in city.Prakash Sesharaghavachar who received the penalty receipt on Sunday said, “I was shocked to see that my car has been imposed a penalty and I was found as a pillion rider with no helmet. I do agree police make mistakes, but not such blunders. The BTP should concentrate on delivering better services behalf of keeping themselves busy with increase the state treasury. In same time BTP can work for the smooth flow of city traffic owes,” Prakash said. MA Saleem, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) said, “It was a technical mistake and already BTP has communicated on withdrawing the receipt issued. The same car was supposed to get penalised for zebra crossing and we will issue a fresh challan now,” commissioner said.
