Submitted by alvin on Sat, 2016-02-27 21:55 Bengaluru: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation's (GHMC) Mayor Gultu Mohan Garu, Commissioner Janardhana Reddy and Chief Engineer Suresh Kumar visited the BBMP as part of an official study tour to the city. During their visit to the city, the three were impressed by the adoption of technology by the BBMP.The commissioner of GHMC complimented the Chief of IT Cell of BBMP Sheshadri after watching a powerpoint presentation on the civic body's great strides in technology awareness and implementation.During the visit, GHMC officials also lauded the BBMP's attempts to save the lakes by taking appropriate measured during the immersion of Ganapati Idols during the festival season.Commissioner of GHMC Janardhana Reddy said, “The corporation has taken appropriate measures to prevent the pollution and also managing to not hurt any religious sentiments. Also we would like to emulate the way technology has been adopted in different cells in public administration. I would invited IT personnel of BBMP to visit our city in order to help us."Gultu Mohan Garu, Mayor of GHMC, said, "We are really overwhelmed by the treatment and affection by the BBMP crew and elected representatives. So we have invited them to visit our city so that both can exchange ideas."Padmanabha Reddy, Opposition Party Leader of BBMP, said, “GHMC has done a good job in preventing illegal structures. Also their initiatives in regularising unauthorised buildings is also laudable."BN Manjunath Reddy, Mayor of BBMP said, “We are happy that they have come on this study tour. They have invited us to visit their city. I think this will help both cities to have better local governance. I know they are also way ahead than us in some matters. So we will be keen to study and adopt it. So we will visit Hyderabad to learn from them as well."
