Submitted by alvin on Sat, 2016-02-27 21:41 Bengaluru: Child Rights Initiative for Shared Parenting (CRISP) on Saturday demanded that at least 2 percentage of the total budget be earmarked exclusively for the judiciary from the present 0.4 percentage in the forthcoming budget. Addressing media persons, Kumar Jahgirdar, President, CRISP said, “We demand at least 2 percentage of the total budget be earmarked for judiciary in the forthcoming budget to improve infrastructure for speedy dispensation of justice. The government should implement setting up of e-Courts along with audio, video recording and CCTV surveillance in all the courts to protect innocent litigants." He further said, “The government should implement Gram Nyayalaya in all 5000 villages. Also there should be live telecast of court proceedings of High Court and Supreme Court on the lines of Parliament in the larger public interest in our democracy.” Jahgirdar also wanted the setting up of National Judiciary Commission expedited.
