BPAC to apply new schooling model at Guttahalli govt school

Submitted by Editor on Mon, 2016-01-25 18:03 Bengaluru: With a vision of creating a clean and safe environment in government schools, the Bangalore Political Action Committee (B.PAC) is evolving a new model of schooling knows as the Green and Safe School.The ‘Green and Safe School’ follows a child-centric approach, where schools become a space for positive carbon footprint, free of violence, harassment, and abuse.The government primary school in Palace Guttahalli will be the beneficiary of this new schooling model. B.PAC in association with Shell MRPL aviation fuels and services ltd is expected to apply the principles of the Green and Safe School to upgrade infrastructure among other things at the school.The project was inaugurated recently by Dr Ashwathnarayan MLA Malleshwaram, Revathy Ashok, CEO B.PAC, Ananda Gundu Rao, member B.PAC, and Hemalatha, Corporator Gayathrinagar ward.The primary school in Palace Guttahalli has a strength of around hundred students who come from low income communities from the surrounding areas. “The school had expressed a need for basic infrastructure such as toilets for students, a properly equipped library room and resources for co-curricular activities,” said Revathy Ashok, CEO and managing trustee, B.PAC. “Safety is another important issue in schools. We will also deploy necessary safety infrastructure and conduct safety awareness training for students, teachers and parents.”
