Submitted by Editor on Fri, 2016-01-22 20:46 Bengaluru: The state BJP on Friday filed a complaint with the state election commission against Kimmane Ratnakar, minister for higher and primary education, for allegedly violating election code of conduct in the state. Ratnakar reportedly briefed media persons on Thursday on appointing over 9,500 teachers in the state to fill vacant posts as well as proving shoes to schoolchildren. Malavakia Avinash, spokesperson for BJP, who filed a complaint against Ratnakar, told media that the minister was luring voters by announcing appointment of teachers and distribution of shoes for schoolchildren in state. Polls for taluk panchayats and zilla panchayats will be held in February. Polls are also to be held for three vacant MLA constituencies including Hebbal, Devadurga and Bidar MLA constituency. According to the state election commission, the first phase of polling for ZP and TP is scheduled for Feb 13 and second phase of polling will be held on Feb 20 while polling for vacant MLA constituencies will be held on February 13.
