Submitted by Editor on Thu, 2016-01-21 15:40 Bengaluru: Over 25 passengers traveling in a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus had a narrow escape after a low hanging high tension wire snapped and fell on the vehicle on Thurday morning.The incident happened at Belthur in Kadugodi, and the alert bus driver prevented a major mishap by immediately evacuating all the passengers from the vehicle headed towards KR Puram. After ensuring that all the passengers were safe, the driver climbed over the roof of the bus and removed the wire using a long wooden pole. An eye witness, Waseem Memon, said it was due to the poor infrastructure in Bengaluru that such an incident occurred. “It was a narrow escape for many commuters on this road. This could have been a major accident,” he said.When the Managing Director of BMTC, Ekroop Kaur, was contacted about the incident, she said: “Such an incident has not come to my notice, however, during such cases, our officials immediately bring it to the notice of BESCOM and take the necessity action.
