Musical tribute to renowned musician C Ashwath

Submitted by Subeditor on Wed, 2015-12-30 20:57 Bengaluru: Tributes were paid to renowned musician and singer, the  late C Ashwath on his 6th death anniversary, by folk and light music singers in Kannada. The programme was organised by Raganjali Trust at Raganjali Trust Art School, on Wednesday.The programme "Geetha Shravana" was attended by the renowned litterateurs, singers, musicians and fans of C Ashwath.More than 100 singers including Shivamoga Subbanna, M D Pallavi and Premalatha Divakar and students sang Aswath’s songs mellifluously.The songs of C Ashwath and his music composition to poems written by Rashtrakavi Kuvempu were the most popular at the programme.Joining hands, the singers brought the audience to their legs. Shimoga Subbanna thrilled the audience by singing the Iconic “Anandamaya Ee Jagahrudaya” written by Kuvempu and set to music by Ashwath.Speaking with Bfirst.in on the occasion, singer Premalatha Divakar said the Raganjali Trust Art School was set up in 2010 in the memory of Ashwath.Musicians and littérateurs including Putturu Narasimha Nayak, M N Vyasa Rao, Muddu Krishna, Sheshadri Mokshagundam and other were present in the programme.
