Submitted by Subeditor on Sun, 2015-12-20 16:24 Bengaluru: Hundreds of North East Indians who are living in Bengaluru have shown their concern towards neighboring flood hit Chennai through raising fund through organizing North East winter festival and concert in a private hotel here in the city on Saturday. North East Welfare Association, Karnataka (NEWAK) had bought artists like Michael M Sailo from Mizoram, Yesterdrive Band from Arunachal Pradesh, Edwin Kubzar from Nagaland, B-Hottie888 from Sikkim and Young Dirt from Manipur for performing live on-stage at the NE Winter Festival and Concert. Speaking to Bfirst.in, Vesokho Resu, president, NEWAK who initiated the event said, “ whenever there were needs for North East Indians, some or the others have extended their helping hands. Now its our time to help them through what we can,” he said. “We had no other option than organizing a concert and raising a fund. Since it is Christmas season, we thought we would try bringing all friends from eight sister states together and work for a cause, ” said Len Singson, secretary, NEWAK. Party lovers also enjoyed variety food delicacies from North East states. “With a concert, I could able to see talents of North East Indians and also got a chance to taste variety of food from NE states,” said Joyce who works in a private firm in Bengaluru.
