This outburst was by none than Bengaluru City Mayor B N Manjunath Reddy.The scene occurred when Reddy was at M G Road Metro Station Reach-1 to distribute hand gloves to paurakarmika's on Thursday morning. He was visibly upset after inspecting the surroundings of metro station where garbage was recklessly strewn around the medians.Reddy immediately directed the BBMP and BMRCL officials to clear the garbage and silt near the drain lines and on the roadside with a warning that he will pick up the broom if the area is not clear within the next two days. Speaking to media persons he said, “I will be inspecting the city roads in the next two days and try to solve the rising issues of potholes. Meanwhile, BBMP is also organising an awareness programme on waste segregation in city. Already the street play team has covered 23 wards in city spreading the message of waste management,” he said. Enunciating on the future programmes Mayor said, “We are also planning to adopt models of other metro cities where they spread the awareness using television and radio channels,” he said.
