DK Bureaucracy and Lions Club to Honour the Disabled

Submitted by Newseditor on Wed, 2015-12-02 17:06 Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district administration in association with Lions Club, Gandhinagar and other organisations is conducting “World Disabled Day” at Town Hall on December 3.Sanidhya Special School Administrator Vasanth Kumar Shetty told mediapersons at Patrika Bhavan on Wednesday that the programme will be inaugurated by Lions Club District Governor Kavitha Shastry and presided over by Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Srividya. As many as 20 persons who contributed much to the special children will be felicitated on the same occasion”, he said.As many as 1000 disabled persons from 10 special schools in the district, students from “Ashrama” schools also will take part in the programme. As election code of conduct has been imposed in the district, elected representatives would not be take part in the programme. A total of 20 tricycles will be distributed to the beneficiaries during the programme. However, as the election code of conduct is imposed, it will also be disbursed after the election gets over”, Shetty added.Lions Club Gandhinagar President M Sudhakar Shetty, Secretary K Girish, Convenor Chandramohan among others were present.
