With the ban of using plastic in place, the novel initiative from DAHS students, who also taught the vendors the technique of making paper bags, is expected to nudge vendors to shift away from plastic bags. Vendors assured the students that they would switch to using paper bags soon. The awareness programme is part of Prakriti - a community outreach programme under Student Empowerment for Environmental Development (SEED). The programme focuses on 3Rs -- reduce, reuse and recycle. The activity was supervised by Prof. P Valsaraj, coordinator DAHS along with students Ashish P, Abhishek Dev, Yashika Singh, Apurva Singh, Mugil V, Shalini Pallikila, and Harshad Muthe.
