Submitted by Subeditor on Tue, 2015-12-01 19:00 Mangaluru: “ Vijaya Bank has financed Rs 900 crore under Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana this year and focusing more on augmenting the growth under priority sector especially agricultural advances with clear focus on upliftment of Self Help Grops (SHGs)”, informed Kishore Sansi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Vijaya Bank here on Tuesday. Addressing the mediapersons at the auditorium of Vijaya Bank in Balmatta, Mangaluru Sansi said, “an interactive meeting with SHGs of Shri Kshethra Dharmastala Rural Development Project has (SKDRDP) held already. As per the MOU, the Dharmastala branch of Vijaya Bank has disbursed a sum of Rs 205 crore to SKDRDP, benefitting 7819 SHGs, ” he added. Informing about the performances of the Bank over the years, he said, “the Bank has branch network of 1783 branches with total delivery channels of more than 3200 across the country. The Bank has 80 branches and 82 ATMs in Dakshina Kannada district. The Bank has crossed total business figure of Rs 2,10,000 cores in September 2015. The total business figure in Mangaluru region is close to 4400 crore as on date,” Sansi claimed. “Bank has a robust IT platform offering various alternate delivery channels like mobile banking, e-lobby, at par with the new generation bank. As given more focus on mobile banking, over 1.10 lakh new mobile banking activations are made in just six months the number of mobile banking users. Along with the banking business, it also been engaged in social activities under Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) programme. It has adopted 105 girl children so far and cost of their education will be taken care of by the Bank up to graduation level. In Mangaluru 10 girl children from poor economic background has been adopted,” he added. DGM Anil Kumar Shetty, general manager Sathish Ballal were also present in the press meet.
