Jewelry worth Rs 3.90 lakh looted from Darbe house

Submitted by alvin on Mon, 2016-05-02 13:59 Puttur: Miscreants have burgled a house belonging to K Prabhakar Shenoy who along with his family was away in Kozhikode in Kerala for an event and have decamped with gold worth Rs 3.90 lakh in Darbe in Puttur taluk. The incident came to light on Sunday when a boy supplying milk noticed that the front door had been broken open and he immediately alerted the neighbour who is said to be owner’s brother. Upon learning, Prabhakar Shenoy and family returned by evening and inspected the house. Gold ornaments valued at Rs 4-lakh-plus including a diamond-studded earrings have been taken away. However, silver items were found strewn all over the place. Some foreign currency kept in the wardrobe has been left untouched. Police teams and fingerprint experts have visited the spot and are investigating.
