Submitted by Newseditor on Mon, 2015-11-30 20:21 Mangaluru: Karnataka Pre-University Education Department Mangaluru, Bunts alias Nadavara Mathru Sangha and Sri Ramakrishna Pre-University College are jointly organising a four-day state level athletic meet at Mangala Stadium in Lalbagh from December 3, 2015. Sri Ramakrishna Pre University College correspondent Krishna Prasad Rai told mediapersons at Patrika Bhavan on Monday that it is the first time in the history that state level athletic meet for Pre-University Colleges will be held in Mangaluru. Around 2500 students from 31 districts are likely to participate in this event. Winners of first, second and third places will be felicitated and awarded certificates. The winners will be qualified to participate in the national level sports meet which will be held in Maharashtra during the last week of this month. The participants will be given free boarding and lodging facilities at the Sri Ramakrishna Educational Campus for boys and Lady Victoria Educational Institutions in Ladyhill for girls, he said. Informing about the inauguration ceremony of sports meet Krishna Prasad Rai said, “Dakshina Kannada District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai will inaugurate along with Health Minister U T Khader, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports K Abhayachandra Jain, among others. Mangaluru South MLA J R lobo will preside over the programme. The valedictory of the sports meet will be held on December 6 at around 2 pm, which will be presided over by Bunts Alias Nadavara Mathru Sangha President Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi”. Sri Ramakrishna Pre University College Principal Kishore Rai Sheni, Physical Director Kishore Bhandary, lecturer Ganapathi Bhat and State Sports Counselling Committee member Premanath Shetty were present.
