His selfie stick, said to be the world’s longest, might get an entry into the Guinness World Records and he is hopeful of it. The stick measuring 10.39 meters was demonstrated at the MIT grounds on Monday. Presently, the longest selfie – which stands at 8.56 meters – record is held by Ben Stiller from USA. Initially, Armaan planned to use steel but found that it was too heavy so, he made it out of aluminum as it is lighter and stronger. He had already sent an application and it has been accepted by Guinness World Records. He says, if it is recognised, he plans to make it 12 meter long stick. Armaan did a demonstration with SJ Kumaraswamy, Deputy Superintendent of Police, GK Prabhu, Director of MIT, BHV Pai, Joint Director, Narayan Shenoy, Associate Director, BK Singh, Professor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Indrali Jayakar Shetty, General Manager of Badagabettu Credit Cooperative Society Ltd. Armaan, son of Mohammed Soorinje and Rehana from Mangaluru, is also a member of student team ‘Formula Manipal’ of MIT, which designed a formula racing car.
