Submitted by Newseditor on Thu, 2015-11-26 21:06 Manipal: On the occasion of the First Constitution Day marking the 125th anniversary of the architect of Indian Constitution, Dr B R Ambedkar, Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal organised a programme to create awareness on some of the salient features of the Constitution at the college premises on Thursday. Prof Varadesh Hiregange, In-charge, Gandhian and Peace studies, Manipal University spoke to the students and faculty of the college and briefed them about the contributions made by the founding father. He presented an overview of the Indian constitution with details of how the constitution came into existence. The salient features of the constitution and fundamental rights were a major highlight of his talk. Prof Varadesh also emphasised the importance of preamble and made the session interactive with examples from history and current affairs. The dean Dr Anice George and faculty of the college will make all efforts to promote constitutional values among its students.
