Submitted by alvin on Wed, 2016-03-09 12:38 Mangaluru: Three persons were killed on the spot after a goods carrier in which they were travelling rammed a tipper lorry, in Yedapadvu on Tuesday. The deceased have been identified as Kalappa, 37, of Hubballi, Prakash Rao, 53, of Karkala and Sonu, 35, from Jharkand. Rajesh, 35, from Jharkand has sustained severe injuries and is being treated at a private hospital. Police said, the driver of the goods carrier – loaded with oil and flour – was on his way to Karkala. At Yedapadavu, he lost balance over the wheels and hit a two-wheeler and rammed into a stationed tipper. The impact of the collision was such that the goods carrier mangled completely resulting in a traffic pile up on the stretch. A case has been registered at Bajpe Police Station.
