Submitted by alvin on Tue, 2016-02-23 17:27 Mangaluru: The two-day international conference "Smart Materials and Technologies for Emerging Electronics" (IC-SMTEE-2016) was inaugurated at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management in Mangaluru by Padma Shri Dr RM Vasagam, Chancellor, Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, Chennai. Vasagam in his address spoke about the importance of nano technology. Prof. Gottfried Döhler, Max Planck Institute, Germany, said he was astonished by the drastic change in the economic development of India. "I am pleased to see that the country has utilised opportunities in the field of science and technology," he said. Prof. K Byrappa, vice-chancellor of Mangalore University, spoke about the importance of smart materials. He said that convergence of science and technology was important. The conference aims to review the advances in smart materials and technologies which play a huge role in the field of electronics and other disciplines.
