Speaking to media persons, he said the party will invite all Block Congress presidents and leaders from both Taluk Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat before giving out tickets. “There are also party guidelines which should be respected by all. The candidate list will be prepared as per the guidelines and it will be disclosed within few days,” he said. Sudashan urged candidates and party workers to fan out and seek votes over the development works initiated by the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government. “Party workers and candidates can also shed light upon the failure of Union Government in providing pro-people governance,” Sudarshan added. “The main opposition party, the BJP, in the state is always indulging in communal violence in the state. Despite, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah doing everything he can to eradicate poverty through various programmes, the BJP is busy in tarnishing the image of the government by making baseless allegations. For the welfare of the state, voters should support the candidates of the Congress party,” Sudarshan said. Dakshina Kannada district Congress in-charge president Ibrahim Kodijal, MLC Ivan D’Souza, Mayor Jasinta Vijay Alfred , Deputy Mayor Purushotham Chithrapur were present at the press meet.
