The smoke from these deaths is emanating a smell of an unseen conspiracy…..a cold blooded crime. The deceased has been identified as Shambavi Shetty (52), a resident of Jeppinamogaru in Mangaluru. It may be recalled that only two weeks ago her 28-year-old daughter Usha Shetty who was working in a motor car showroom near Balmatta in city was found charred to death in Bajpe police station limits. Though dubbed a suicide based on her death note, there is a widespread suspicion that it could be murder. Shambavi Shetty, apparently took the extreme step in a state of depression following her daughter’s death. According to police, as usual the family members had slept at night and on waking up in the early morning noticed that Shambavi Shetty was missing from her bed. On searching, they found her dead inside the well, police said. A complaint has been registered with Mangaluru rural police. However, going by the pattern of deaths there are opinions that the police must dig deeper into the issue and look beyond the suicide angle. Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed reports that Shambavi had received warnings on face that her life was in danger.
