The girl is a minor and one of the five accused is a minor as well. Acting swiftly, the Kavoor police have arrested all the accused in the crime on Monday, a day after the incident. The accused have been identified as Prashanth Shetty (23), Nowfal (23), Salman (20), Suresh (20) and a minor. Sources in Kavoor police station said, the prime accused Prashanth Shetty always used to harass the victim girl. He was always pestering her to have a physical relationship with him, promising marriage later. On Sunday, Prashanth asked the victim to meet him at Panjimogaru ostensibly to discuss some important issues with her. When she went there, the accused minor came on a motorcycle and asked her to go with him claiming that Prashanth had asked him to pick her up from there. Later, he took her to a house at Panjimogaru. The victim found Prashanth Shetty at that house with his accomplices. They made her to drink a glass juice administered with sedatives and raped her one after another after she fell unconscious. Later, the gang threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident with anyone. The incident came to light when the victim's mother found her in a state of depression on Monday morning. She approached the members of Mangaluru Mahila Shakti and lodged a complaint with the Kavoor police station. Mahila Shakti President Vijayashri told the reporter that Prashanth Shetty had misused the ignorance of the victim.
