Co-developer of the app Thakur Rahul Singh told mediapersons at Patrika Bhavan on Friday that usually people do not know about the new offers, recommendations, product reviews, latest arrivals and trending. This information if available is only through banners and flyers and is neither engaging nor easily accessible. However, offline shopping still accounts 92 percent of the shopping activities in India and the only way to improve this is by enhancing the user's experience by providing proper information. The newly-designed mobile app `Winkl` provides relevant, contextual and personalised information as people walk around the mall,” he said. Once users download the ‘Winkl’ app from the Google Playstore, the real time shopping feed including all the latest arrivals, trending, offers and recommendations will be displayed on the smart phone. “If people walk around the mall, content keeps loading on the phone based on user's indoor mall location and personal interests. Due to this, users know exactly which store they would like walk into as they enter the mall or a particular floor in the mall. This will save them lots of time and help them experience the products they are interested,” Rahul added. “Initially, Winkl has partnered with Forum Fiza Mall to launch this app and it is first of its kind Winkl-enabled mall in India wherein people would have a seamless shopping experience. There is a plan to contact other malls also in the future in order to make better shopping experience to the people,” Rahul informed. Along with Thakur Rahul Singh, the other co-developers of the app are Pratham, Suprith and Akhil Kumar.
