Pourakarmikas are instrumental in keeping the city clean but they have royally been ignored by the Modi government, he said. Mysuru city got clean city tag for two consecutive years and the role of Pourakarimas in keeping the city clean is immense. But, the tag hasn’t brought any value to their work, he added. Instead of inviting celebrities for photo-op, Modi government need to identify these unsung heroes and acknowledge their work with awards. This will motivate them to make the campaign successful, he added.
