Massive manhunt launched for jail-breakers

Submitted by alvin on Wed, 2016-03-23 11:42 Bengaluru: In a major jail-break, four under trial prisoners have made a good escape from Kalaburagi Central Prison in the wee hours of Wednesday. The escaped prison inmates are – Shiva Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Lakshman and Tajuddeen. They are all residents of Kalaburagi district.According to the police, the prisoners have removed their cell’s grill and made a hole in the wall. Later, they used a bed sheet to climb down the prison wall to escape, added the police.The police further said that Shivkumar is accused of a murder and three rape cases."The prisoners have escaped between 1.30 am and 2 am on Wednesday. The prison officials informed us about 5 am. Massive search operations are underway," B Shiva Kumar, Inspector General of Police said.The Kalburgi police have have registered the case and are investigating.Meanwhile, the prison department has decided to probe loopholes that led the prisoners to get out.
