Submitted by Newseditor on Tue, 2015-12-01 20:29 Ankola: In a mishap on National Highway 66, seven people including two women from two families died on the spot after a Maruti Omni they were travelling in collided with a Tipper Lorry that was travelling towards Karwar. The incident occurred at Belase village of Ankola Taluk, Karwar District in between 1.30 and 2 pm on Tuesday. The deceased were travelling to Haveri after some of them took treatment for Paralysis at Gopashetta of Karwar District. The deceased are identified as Shahajaad Saab (70), Abidabi (60), Hanumanthappa (68), Kallamma (65), Pakirappa (24), Hanumanthappa (35) and Kuberappa (Driver). It is said that the negligence by Omni driver was the cause for the mishap. The Ankola Police have registered a case against the Omni Van. The dead bodies are yet to be handed over to the kith of the deceased who rushed to station on getting the information.
