Inaugurating the event, Additional Commissioner for Regional Commissioners Office Dr M R Ravi said that dedicated women can play a huge part in the healing process of patients by helping them to deal with stress, which impacts on the treatment process. “It is unfortunate that a few doctors are running behind money ignoring the core objective of their profession,” said Ravi. “Nursing is a noble profession and should not be commercialised. Serving people is the ultimate objective of a doctor and not money-making.” Dr K Lalitha, Professor at the Department of Nursing, Nimhans, Bengaluru, spoke on the developmental goals announced by the UN and also reminded nurses of their social responsibility.
