Anupama was allegedly transferred to Belagavi at the behest of Labour Minister Parameshwar Naik after she put the minister’s call on hold on Jan 18. The DySP was transferred to Athani in Belagavi District on Jan 19 and within few hours she was transferred once more to Vijayapura on Jan 20. The minister was later caught by a TV channel boasting about his deed before a meeting of party workers in Hadagali constituency. Following a sustained campaign by netizens and activists, the police department revoked her transfer and reinstated her to Kudligi Police Station. An order to this effect was issued by the office of the Director General of Police Om Prakash on Feb 1. Bfirst was the first to report on the injustice meted out to the female officer.
