Govt, police dept bow to pressure; cancel transfer order of DySP Anupama Shenoy

Submitted by Editor on Mon, 2016-02-01 17:25 Bengaluru: The order transferring Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Anupama Shenoy, who was shunted out from Kudligi in Ballari allegedly at the behest of Labour Minister Parameshwar Naik for putting his call on hold, is being cancelled, as a result of which Anupama will be reinstated at her original posting in Kudligi. An order to this effect has been issued by the office of the Director General of Police Om Prakash. Bfirst.in has a copy of the letter. Bfirst was the first to report on the injustice meted out to the female officer, who was transferred twice in two days by the police department a week ago. Though the labour minister denied having role in the transfer, he was caught by a TV channel boasting about his deed at public meet recently. Since then more cases of the minister’s abuse of power have come to light. The police department and the government had earned plenty of flak over the transfer. The order posting Anupama back to Kudligi seems to be as a result of the bad publicity both have been getting due to an increased media scrutiny over the unjust and arbitrary transfer.
