But unlike his other victims, Duddagi dug his heels in and obtained a stay on his transfer. The officer reportedly is seeking security as he fears for his life. Subsequently, on October 20, 2015, the RFO wrote a letter to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF), in which he explained as to how the minister, under pressure from the mining mafia, was trying to stop him from discharging his duties. Duddagi in his letter also spoke of how the minister was encouraging the sand mafia to book false cases against him and his team in order to derail their campaign against the mafia. On November 9, 2015, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) wrote to the additional chief secretary demanding security for the officer because of his exemplary record in cracking down on illegal sand mining and forest encroachment mafia in Ballari. RFO Duddagi had reportedly earned the wrath of the illegal sand mining mafia as he had taken action against a unit in Kudlugi that was operating on 30 hectares of encroached forest land. With the sand mining unit being allegedly owned by close relatives of the current labour minister, Parameshwar Naik is said to have lobbied with the Chief Minister’s Office to get the RFO transferred. Labour minister PT Parameshwar Naik who was allegedly involved in a transfer of a DySP Anupama Shenoy from Kudligi limits in Bellari to Bijapur and Belagavi was also scene involved himself in transferring a PSI Bheemanagouda five times for not respecting him. http://www.bfirst.in/article/hyd-karnataka/2187/female-dysp-transferred-...   http://www.bfirst.in/article/namma-ooru/2480/anupama’s-parents-s...
