According to reports in the local media, Dubai witnessed around 77mm of rain on Wednesday, which resulted in severe waterlogging in many areas and to the closure of several roads. The heavy rain also resulted in operations at the Abu Dhabi airport being suspended temporarily. Schools and colleges were also shut on the order of Abu Dhabi Education Council on Wednesday. Dubai English Speaking School (DIAC), Oasis School, Dubai English Speaking School (Oud Metha), Al Salam Private School, Star International School, Jebel Ali Primary school, Emirates International School, Mirdif and Star International School, Al Twar remained closed on Wednesday. The UAE weather authority has warned of more rain in the city until Thursday.
