IIMB to launch start-up incubator to nurture non-profit organisations

Submitted by alvin on Thu, 2016-05-19 19:41 Bengaluru: IIMB in partnership with Michael and Susan Dell Foundation will be launching a start-up incubator to nurture early stage non-profit organisations.The incubator will be housed at the IIMB’s NS Raghavan Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (NSRCEL) and will function with the help of a grant from Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, aiming to nurture at least five fledgling organisations over the next two years.The institute would be inviting applications from non-profit entrepreneurs and the selection process will be anchored by an independent advisory group, following which IIMB will provide the selected organizations with tenancy and co-working space within its campus for a period of two years. The selected non-profits will also be provided with a robust set of wrap-around services including mentoring support, consulting services and training programs.Professor Suresh Bhagavatula, Chairperson, Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Development at NSRCEL, IIMB, who will be spearheading the initiative, said: “We at IIMB have rich experience in successfully incubating for-profit companies. However, not much work has been done on non-profit social ventures. This initiative, with support from Michael
