However, it has not included Kannada in its list. But it is learnt that the state government has decided not to appeal against exclusion of Kannada. Sources Medical Education Department told Bfirst.in that Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has never conducted Common Entrance Test (CET) in Kannada, hence it would not request Supreme Court to conduct NEET exam in Kannada. Besides, CET was conducted only in English. According to officials in the state higher education department, those who are not fluent in English would not be able to do well in both medical and engineering courses. Hence, CET was conducted only in English. "When we were not holding our own CET in Kannada how could we demand to hold NEET in Kannada,' officials sought to know. Meanwhile, state medical education department officials and law department officials including advocate general will hold a meeting over NEET and its related issues on Thursday.
