Angry students ask Maharani college principal to move out

Submitted by alvin on Thu, 2016-03-24 21:42 Bengaluru: Officials of Maharani Arts and Commerce college on Palace Road faced anxious moments on Thursday when several students protested against the college principal, inviting police intervention.According to the police, several students began raising slogans against the principal, asking her to vacate the office as she had been transferred to Vijayanagar First Grade college by the Department of Collegiate Education. The High Grounds, who are providing security to the college, dispersed the students from the area.Sources said the students were the supporters of Govinda Swamy, a professor in the Department of Commerce, who hasbeen loggerheads with the principal.
