But confusion persisted till the minister's intervention. Principal Secretary, Primary and Secondary Education Ajay Sait in a press conference said the reexam would be held on March 29 as announced earlier. But few hours later, Education minister Kimmane Rathnakar surprised everyone by saying that the reexam would be held on March 31 instead of March 29. And the justification for a change in the date? II PUC Kannada language examination, which is scheduled for March 28. After much discussion, the reexam has been postponed to Mar 31. But the minister's decision has not gone down well with the PU board officials. Many officials feel that it is difficult to hold examination on March 31 as SSLC examinations will commence in the Composite PU colleges on March 30. But students are happy with the change in the date of re -examination as they would get a day's gap to prepare for the chemistry paper after the Kannada language eam. Meanwhile, the PU board has announced that no grace marks would be awarded in the mathematics examination since experts have confirmed that questions asked in the question paper are from the syllabus.
After much confusion, II PU chemistry re-exam will now be held on Mar 31
