Submitted by Editor on Mon, 2016-02-22 19:33 Bengaluru: Help centres for the benefit of parents seeking admission under RTE quota in unaided schools will begin functioning from Feb 23 till Mar 15, said the RTE Students’ and Parents’ Association at a press conference on Monday. Addressing media persons, members of RTE Students and Parents Association said the help centres were being set up for the aid of economically disadvantaged sections of the society such as labourers, homeless, HIV victims, and auto drivers who may run into difficulties during the admission season. The initiative came to fruition with the cooperation of public representatives, NGOs and others, they said. The RTE centres will be open between 10am and 4.30pm. This year the parents can submit applications in the jurisdiction of their respective wards. If the ward does not have even a single unaided school, then the parents may enrol their children at government and government-aided schools in their respective wards. The enrolment for the L.K.G (Lower Kinder Garten) and Standard I will also be done under the RTE Act. Parents have to carry proof of identity such as caste and income certificates, birth certificate, voter card or Aadhaar card, and passport-size photos to the enrollment centres.
