Looks like it is the turn of the BFirst.in exposé to go viral now, as Congress national spokesperson Brijesh Kalappa, alongside many other social media users, shared the story on Facebook on Monday. Here is the gist of the story: The photograph of the dismally under-equipped school, which does not even have a permanent structure, was taken back in 2006. According to the Department of Public Instructions (DPI) officials, it was a year later that government schools in the state were provided with a permanent structure. Clearly not bothering to ascertain the veracity of the photograph, Suresh Kumar raised the issue with Primary and Secondary Education Minister Kimmanne Rathnakar, and also shared it on social media, which sparked off an online furore against the DPI. The blooper was revealed when BFirst.in got in touch with the DPI officials, who clarified that the photograph shared by Suresh Kumar was outdated and far from the present situation at the primary school in Kattehole Village, Hiriyur Thaluk. They even substantiated their claims with recent photographs of the school.
