The students enthusiasm was so contagious that even local residents joined them in spreading greenery in the school. Earth Day, initiated to protect environment in 1970 has been adopted globally. The day is dedicated for various activities that contribute towards protecting environment. Today, the pollution is beyond air or water. Toxic waste being released by industries has impacted the ozone layer. But nothing much is being done to check this. Enhancing the green cover would be a small effort towards this and that’s exactly what the students of Manshar school demonstrated. Manshar Chairman Sayyed CTM Thangal inaugurated the Earth Day. He appreciated students and the faculty for participating in the cause, despite having holidays.
