Submitted by Newseditor on Sat, 2015-12-05 19:23 Bengaluru: Six persons attached to a pro-Kannada organisation Karnataka Kavalu Sene have been arrested by the Mico Layout police on Friday night for allegedly raiding a brothel and demanding extortion money to cover up the business. The accused have been identified as Rudrajith (25), State President of the Sene and a resident of Kanakapura Road and his associates from the organisation- Ravichandra (26) of J P Nagar, Pratap (24), Gajendra (26), Muniyappa (23)-all three from Bannerghatta and Satish (24) of Chikka Kammanahalli. The Mico Layout police said that the Rudradeep and his team gathered information about a brothel being run in Mico Layout area. Instead of informing it to the local police they themselves conducted a raid. They found three women and a customer in the house. They demanded Rs 20,000 from the customer to hush up the case and Rs 1 lakh from a pimp. When the customer and pimp refused to pay any amount, the Sene gang decided to take them to the police station. Meanwhile, the landlord of the house came to know of the incident and informed the police leading to their immediate arrest. A case of attempt to extortion has been registered against the accused persons. Police investigation also reveals that the gang had committed similar offences in J P Nagar 2nd Phase, a week ago and had successfully extorted Rs1.27 lakh from a brothel. “We suspect that Rudrajith and his accomplices may have done the same across the city and we are investigating,” an investigation officer said. All six persons were produced before the court on Saturday and remanded to judicial custody. Also, three women, two from Kolkata and one from Chennai were rescued and pimp Harish was arrested for running the racket. Further investigations are on.
