Submitted by alvin on Tue, 2016-05-17 19:28 Bengaluru: UB group Vice-President Samrat Chadda, who’s BMW collided with an autorickshaw on Saturday night and injured four persons, was arrested by the Indiranagar police on Tuesday on charges of drink-driving and rash and negligent driving. Samrat Chadda’s BMW collided with an autorickshaw in GM Palya on Saturday night. Four persons, including three passengers and the driver, sustained injuries and the autorickshaw was damaged. The Indiranagar traffic police detained Chadda and subjected him to a medical examination which confirmed that he was under the influence of alcohol. The police seized his vehicle and summoned Chadda to appear the next day for questioning. When Chadda did not appear as asked on Sunday, the police arrested him on Tuesday from his villa in Vignana Nagar. He was later released on station bail after being questioned for two hours. A senior police officer said Chadda had been booked for drink-driving by Mumbai and Goa police as well.
