Submitted by Editor on Wed, 2016-04-27 01:12 Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a 90-year-old woman was killed after she was hit by a wooden log by her grandson over a trivial matter at her residence on Kabbalamma Road, Kadirenahalli, in South Bengaluru on Monday night. The Banashankari police said that the deceased had been identified as Lakshmamma and the accused as Shivaraju, son of her fourth son, who worked as a delivery boy at a private marketing firm in the city. Police said the around 7.30pm on Monday, Shivaraju was involved in an altercation with Lakshmamma after her walking stick accidentally touched the charger of Shivaraju's phone, causing the mobile phone to fall on the floor. On noticing his phone had been damaged a bit, Shivaraju slapped Lakshmamma, leading to an altercation between the two. According to the police, Shivaraju hit Lakshmamma's neck with a wooden log, which led to the 90-yr-old woman losing consciousness. Later, Lakshmamma regained consciousness after family members sprinkled water on her. But police said the family members did not take her to hospital noticing that she was behaving normally. Lakshmamma went to sleep as usual but was found dead in the morning. The family members informed the Banashankari police about the incident. The police have registered a case of murder and arrested Shivaraju.
