Submitted by Editor on Fri, 2016-04-22 23:00 Bengaluru: Lighting up a cigarette while stealing petrol from parked two-wheelers has landed behind bars two foreign youths studying in the city. Wial Mansoor, 22, of Kanakanagar in RT Nagar, a South Sudanese national, and Mustafa Mubarak, 22, of RT Nagar and a Bahraini national, have been arrested by police for starting a fire that gutted six two-wheelers at an apartment on Hennur Main Road in East Bengaluru on Thursday night. Mansoor is a third semester engineering student, while Mubarak is a final year Pharmacy student at Rajeev Gandhi College at Kogilu Cross near Yelahanka. N Satheesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Division) said that the two students drove up in a car to Louminium Hospitality (Crown Plaza) apartment on Hennur Main Road and tried to steal petrol from two-wheelers parked near the building. They were smoking a cigarette which they did not put off. The lit cigarette sparked off a fire as they tried to steal the petrol. One bike completely gutted and five others partially burnt in the incident. The Hennur police, who were alerted, rushed to the spot arrested the two men. They have registered a case against them based on the complaint lodged by Parashuram, a private firm employee. Mansoor and Mubarak have been remanded in judicial custody.
